How Will This Pathway Help Students?

Computer Science is the buzz word, we are living in the world of ever changing technology. In this fast paced
world, our students need to have these 21st Century Skills to be Globally Competitive Citizens

Skills Learned in Pathway

Computer Science enables students to become creators, instead of merely consumers, of the technology all around them.

Age is no longer a relevant factor in the use of technology. Anyone from age 3–75 is using it.
Be it an application, game, or website programming & coding is the basis of it all.
And this very programming or coding is built on the 4Cs: Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, & Creativity.

Pre-reqs?

Competencies and Abilities Demonstrated Upon Completion

Based on the information Computer Science students are expected to digest and absorb, they should have a deeper
understanding of the world-wide-web, creation of applications, and websites.  In addition, students will have a functional understanding of programming languages such as Python and Java.

Certifications or Portfolios

Students will have the ability to develop a personal e-portfolio as part of the course's culmination.  This is being considered as part of an end-of-year project at the moment.

Life Skills Learned

Understanding and learning how to create new & innovative applications.
"Apps" are something that we can no longer live without.
There are things we do every day that require computer code or an application, and
without knowledge of their inner-workings, many of us would be disadvantaged.
